Workspace

Export & Data API

Take a complete copy of the company's books in a file, or let another system read them with a read-only key.

Updated

Exporting the books

  1. Open Workspace › Export & Data API and choose New export.
  2. Choose a format. The Accmerio package is the complete copy, with a checksum for every file, and another Accmerio workspace can import it through Import from Other Software. Excel workbook and JSON hold the same data; QuickBooks Desktop (IIF) holds the chart of accounts, customers, suppliers and every journal.
  3. Optionally set From and To, or Choose datasets. Then choose Create export, and enter your authenticator code unless you are the Owner.
  4. When the export shows Ready, choose Download. It is kept for seven days.

Data API keys

  1. Open the API keys tab and choose New key.
  2. Fill Name (after the system that will use it), What it may read, Expires after and, if the system has fixed addresses, Allowed IP addresses.
  3. Choose Create key, enter your code, and copy the key from Copy your new key. It is shown once.

A key only ever reads, and only this company. It stops working when the person who made it leaves the company or loses the right to manage keys. Revoke › Revoke key stops a key at once.

Using the API is the reference for whoever connects the other system: the address, the entities, the query language (in the style of QuickBooks Online's) and the reports.
