What it is
Whenever something in the books changes — an entry posts, an invoice is approved or voided, a person's access changes, a corporate tax return is filed, a file of evidence is attached or removed — Accmerio writes one event: who did it, when, what happened, to which record, and the details at that moment. Events are only ever added. None is edited or deleted.
Each event also carries a fingerprint worked out from its own contents and from the event before it, so the events form a chain. Changing or removing an event after it was written breaks the chain from that point, and the check below finds where.
Reading it
- Open Reports › Audit Trail. The newest event is first.
- Narrow it with Search (words from what happened, a number, a name or a file name), Area (Journals, Sales & purchases, Access, Corporate tax…), Person, Record (the kind of record), and From / To. The dates are UAE calendar days on which the change was made. Clear removes every filter.
- Press a row's details to see everything the event recorded, and its Action key.
- The record's name opens it — an invoice, bill, receipt or payment on its own page, a journal on Journals.
| Column | Shows |
|---|---|
| When | The time in the UAE, and the event's number in the chain |
| Who | The person who did it. The system for something Accmerio did on its own; Someone no longer on the system for an account that has since been removed |
| What happened | The area, and what happened in it |
| Record | What it happened to |
| Details | A line from what the event recorded; press it for everything |
Checking the chain
The panel at the top checks the whole chain when the page opens, and again when you press Check the chain.
- Chain intact — every event was checked, and none was changed or removed after it was recorded. It says how many.
- Chain broken at event #… — from that event on, the trail can no longer be relied on as recorded. It says what was found: an event changed after it was recorded, an event missing, or an event no longer pointing at the one before it. Tell whoever administers the company.
Downloading it
- Set the filters to what you want in the file.
- Press Download and choose CSV, Excel or PDF.
The file carries exactly the rows the filters show, in the same order. The Excel and PDF files also print the filters and the chain's result ("Chain intact: all … events checked"); the CSV is plain rows, for another system. A download is limited to 20,000 events: narrow the dates if there are more.
