Switching to Accmerio
Switch from Xero to Accmerio
Accmerio reads Xero's chart of accounts and bank statement files, and its contacts, invoices, bills, Journal Report, trial balance and ageing through column matching that you confirm. Payments come across from the Journal Report, since Xero has no export of them, and everything is checked against Xero's trial balance before it posts.
What comes across
Recognised, with some columns confirmed by you
- Chart of accounts
- Bank statements
Read through column matching that you confirm
- Customers and suppliers
- Invoices
- Credit notes
- Bills
- Supplier credits
- Journals and vouchers
- General ledger
- Trial balance
- Receivables ageing
- Payables ageing
- Fixed assets
- Items
Files Accmerio reads: CSV, Excel (XLSX).
What to export from Xero
- Chart of accounts
Accounting › Chart of accounts › Export (CSV).
- Contacts
Contacts › Customers, then Suppliers › Export (CSV).
- Invoices and bills
Sales › Invoices and Purchases › Bills › Export (CSV), in batches of 500.
- Journal Report
Reporting › Journal Report from your first transaction, with Account Code, Journal ID, Description and Narration added, exported to Excel: the complete double-entry history, payments included.
- To prove the move
The Trial Balance as at the day before your start date and at each year end, and Aged Receivables and Aged Payables Detail at the start date, exported to Excel.
What stays behind
- Xero has no export of payments or allocations: they come from the Journal Report, not a payments file.
- Quotes, purchase orders, repeating invoice templates and drafts are not ledger history and are not imported.
- The 'Xero General Ledger' text export is not read.
UAE details: Xero's UAE VAT rate names are kept as written, and you map each one to a VAT treatment.
Xero is a trademark of Xero Limited. Accmerio is not affiliated with Xero Limited; the name says which files Accmerio reads.
How the move is checked
Upload what you exported
Accmerio recognises each file and runs a health check: what was found, partly found or missing, and whether it can be proved.
Confirm the columns and the mapping
Check how each column is read and how each account, contact and tax code maps. A 0% VAT code always waits for you: zero-rated, exempt and out of scope are different boxes on the VAT return.
Prove it in a sandbox
Every record is posted in a sandbox and the result is compared with your old system's trial balance and ageing, then rolled back. A difference shows both figures and the likely cause.
Approve, then post
The Owner or an Administrator approves the migration, and only then is it posted into the books. What is not posted, such as drafts and voided documents, stays in a searchable historical archive.
