Switching to Accmerio
Switch from Odoo Accounting to Accmerio
Accmerio reads Odoo's list-view exports from Community, Enterprise and Odoo Online: journal items become the general ledger, with the chart of accounts and contacts, and invoices and bills can come across from their lists. The result is checked against Odoo's trial balance and aged balances before anything posts.
What comes across
Read from Odoo Accounting's own export
- General ledger
- Chart of accounts
- Customers and suppliers
Recognised, with some columns confirmed by you
- Invoices
- Bills
- Credit notes
- Supplier credits
Read through column matching that you confirm
- Trial balance
- Receivables ageing
- Payables ageing
Files Accmerio reads: Excel (XLSX), CSV.
What to export from Odoo Accounting
- Journal items
Accounting › Journal Items, keep the Posted filter, remove any grouping, select all records and choose Action › Export. Add Date, Number, Journal, Account, Partner, Label, Reference, Debit, Credit, Amount in Currency, Currency, Matching # and Status, and export as XLSX.
- Chart of accounts
Accounting › Configuration › Chart of Accounts, select all, Action › Export: Code, Account Name, Type, Allow Reconciliation and Account Currency.
- Contacts
The Contacts list view, select all, Action › Export: Name, Tax ID, Email, Phone and the address.
- To prove the move
The Trial Balance (Enterprise) as at the day before your start date, and Aged Receivable and Aged Payable at the same date, exported to XLSX.
What stays behind
- Draft journal items are not in the books: keep the Posted filter when exporting.
- Matching numbers are kept on each line as evidence; open invoices and bills come from the aged reports.
- An export made in a language other than English is read through column matching you confirm.
Odoo Accounting is a trademark of Odoo S.A.. Accmerio is not affiliated with Odoo S.A.; the name says which files Accmerio reads.
How the move is checked
Upload what you exported
Accmerio recognises each file and runs a health check: what was found, partly found or missing, and whether it can be proved.
Confirm the columns and the mapping
Check how each column is read and how each account, contact and tax code maps. A 0% VAT code always waits for you: zero-rated, exempt and out of scope are different boxes on the VAT return.
Prove it in a sandbox
Every record is posted in a sandbox and the result is compared with your old system's trial balance and ageing, then rolled back. A difference shows both figures and the likely cause.
Approve, then post
The Owner or an Administrator approves the migration, and only then is it posted into the books. What is not posted, such as drafts and voided documents, stays in a searchable historical archive.
