Switching to Accmerio
Switch from Business Central to Accmerio
Accmerio reads Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central's General Ledger Entries and Chart of Accounts exported with Open in Excel. Customer and vendor ledger entries come across through column matching you confirm, and the result is checked against your trial balance before anything posts.
What comes across
Read from Business Central's own export
- General ledger
- Chart of accounts
Read through column matching that you confirm
- Receivables ageing
- Payables ageing
- Customers
- Suppliers
- Trial balance
Files Accmerio reads: Excel (XLSX), CSV, RapidStart configuration packages saved to Excel.
What to export from Business Central
- General ledger entries
Search for General Ledger Entries, filter on the periods you bring, add Transaction No. and Source Code with Personalize, then Share › Open in Excel.
- Chart of accounts
Search for Chart of Accounts › Open in Excel, keeping Account Type and Account Category.
- Open items
Customer Ledger Entries and Vendor Ledger Entries, filtered on Open = Yes up to the start date, each opened in Excel.
- Customers and vendors
The Customers and Vendors lists opened in Excel, for names, VAT registration numbers and balances.
What stays behind
- Heading and total accounts are left out of the chart.
- Dimensions other than Department Code and Project Code are kept as evidence on each line.
- Column captions are read in English.
Business Central is a trademark of Microsoft. Accmerio is not affiliated with Microsoft; the name says which files Accmerio reads.
How the move is checked
Upload what you exported
Accmerio recognises each file and runs a health check: what was found, partly found or missing, and whether it can be proved.
Confirm the columns and the mapping
Check how each column is read and how each account, contact and tax code maps. A 0% VAT code always waits for you: zero-rated, exempt and out of scope are different boxes on the VAT return.
Prove it in a sandbox
Every record is posted in a sandbox and the result is compared with your old system's trial balance and ageing, then rolled back. A difference shows both figures and the likely cause.
Approve, then post
The Owner or an Administrator approves the migration, and only then is it posted into the books. What is not posted, such as drafts and voided documents, stays in a searchable historical archive.
