What Accmerio is
Accmerio keeps a company's books: what it sells and to whom, what it buys and from whom, what is in the bank, what it owns, what it owes, its VAT and its payroll. It is double-entry accounting — every amount is recorded twice, once where it came from and once where it went — which is what lets the reports prove themselves. You do not need to be an accountant to use it: every screen that records money asks you a plain question (who paid, for what, into which account) and writes the accounting for you.
It is built for companies in the UAE. VAT treatments, the Form 201 return, end-of-service gratuity, GPSSA contributions and the WPS salary file are handled as UAE law describes them.
How the guide is organised
The guide follows the sidebar. Start here covers the first day, finding your way around and the accounting you need. Then one part per sidebar section — Sales, Purchases, Banking, Accounting, Assets, Tax, Payroll, Reports and Workspace — with a chapter for every page. Reference at the end holds the month-end routine, troubleshooting, a table of roles, a glossary and the product's known limits.
Every chapter follows the same shape: what the page is for, the tasks as numbered steps, what each task writes to the books, and how to undo a mistake.
How to read the steps
The Accmerio logo and name are centred at the top of the sidebar. Collapsing the navigation keeps the logo centred; on a small screen, the close button stays at the right of the navigation panel.
Module names use the same title casing in the sidebar and page headings, such as Receivables Aging Report and Bank Accounts. Field labels sit above dropdowns and inputs; the page information button aligns with the controls beside it.
- Words in bold are exactly what is written on the screen — a button, a field or a menu item. Find the control by its words.
- Words in italics are what the screen says back — a message, a status, a value — or the name of another section of this guide.
- A path such as Fixed Assets › Depreciation means: open Fixed Assets in the sidebar, then the Depreciation tab.
- “Posts” means the action writes an entry to the ledger. Something that posts is permanent: it can be reversed, never edited.
- Each chapter starts with Who can use it. If a button described here is not on your screen, your role does not include it — see the Roles and permissions chapter.
Completing forms
Important date fields and Chart of Accounts choices have a pale-blue field card around both the label and input, with a Review button beside the label. All fields use consistent spacing, and the document editor adjusts its columns to the space available. Press Review for a short explanation, then Back to form to return without changing your entries. Check dates even if they are already filled in. Compare it with the document or transaction you are recording; a valid date can still be the wrong date. The reminder stays visible while you edit and does not require a confirmation tick.
Choose the Chart of Accounts entry that describes where the entry belongs in your books. Check a preselected account too, including one filled from an item or other default. Optional account fields can stay blank where appropriate. These reminders are separate from validation errors and do not change your entries or posting rules.
Transportation highlights its own fields the same way, in its own words: the day and time of a passenger booking and of a finish, and the account and date money moves on. Review says what to check — for a time, they decide when the driver goes, the hours worked and what is charged; for an account, where this money goes, or comes from: the right bank or cash account.
Invoices, bills, credit notes and debit notes open in a full-page editor inside the workspace. Use Details, Line items, Notes & terms and Summary to move through the form. Each line shows its account, quantity, price, discount and VAT treatment with labels above them. The summary and bottom action bar keep the totals available while you work.
Save draft keeps the document editable. Review and approve first opens a summary; nothing is saved or approved by opening it. Check the customer or supplier, dates, each line's Chart of Accounts selection, VAT and total, then use the approval button to record it. Back to editing returns to your entries. If you add a line, finish its required fields or remove it before saving.
Task pages ask before leaving changed entries. Choose Keep editing to retain the form, or Discard changes to leave it. Reloading or closing the browser tab can show the browser's own warning. A successful save closes normally.
Module forms and record details open as full pages inside your workspace, including customers, suppliers, items, accounts, payments, journals, assets, employees, pay runs, schedules, VAT tasks, team access and integration tasks. Use Back to previous page for a nested task, or the Back button naming your module to return to its list. Save actions stay at the bottom of forms; the whole page scrolls on smaller screens. Small confirmations, account pickers and walkthrough controls remain dialogs or menus.
Copy the address bar to bookmark a task or saved record. Opening that address reloads the saved record in your current company; it does not save unfinished entries. Save your work before refreshing or leaving. When you open a related customer, account or asset task, your parent form stays in place until you return.
Optional fields are marked (optional). Required fields have no asterisk. Leave an optional field blank if it does not apply; a value you do enter must still use the correct format.
Field feedback appears after you leave a field or try to save. Correct the value and the message updates as you type. If an entry is invalid, the form stays open and focuses the first field that needs attention.
- Use a complete email address. Names cannot contain only spaces, and text fields have length limits.
- Enter valid numbers within the limits shown. Amounts that require cents accept up to two decimal places; counts and day limits use whole numbers.
- Choose valid dates. Where a form asks for a start and end, the end cannot precede the start.
- A picker must contain a selected record where one is required. Typing a search without choosing a result does not select it.
- A page opened to create a customer or account checks its own fields. You can finish it before returning to the original form.
Some actions stay unavailable until required choices are complete or the figures balance. Checks on the server still apply, including permissions, closed periods, duplicate records and posting rules; a refusal explains why the action could not finish.
While a page is loading
Page and panel loading states show the Accmerio logo filling upwards from the bottom. This repeats while data is loading; it is a waiting indicator, not a percentage of work completed. Small buttons keep their compact spinners.
If your device requests reduced motion, the logo stays still while the loading message remains visible.
Guided page tours and task walkthroughs
When you are new to Accmerio, the dashboard tour opens by itself the first time you open the dashboard, under the heading Welcome to Accmerio. It opens once for your account, not once per browser: finishing it, or closing it part-way, is remembered against your sign-in, so another browser, another computer or clearing this browser's data does not show it again. People who were already using Accmerio when the tour arrived are not shown it automatically. Other pages wait for you to start them, and any tour, the dashboard's included, can be replayed from the ⓘ beside the page's heading.
- Press the ⓘ beside a page’s heading and choose Walkthrough at the bottom of the explanation that opens.
- Choose Start page tour for a section-by-section explanation. Next and Back move between steps; Close walkthrough or Escape ends the page tour.
- Choose a task under Task walkthroughs to work through the real screen. It opens by saying what the task is for and who may do it, then opens the form the first step describes and outlines each field or button as it names it. Work in the form, press Next for the following step, and finish the task yourself. The coach stands beside the control it is describing, and beside the form once one is open, so it never covers a field or the button that saves. It can be Minimized while you work.
- From this guide, Start page tour opens that chapter's page. Walk me through this beside a numbered task starts its instructions on the relevant page.
Page and task explanations use the same chapters as this guide and its PDF. Having been through the dashboard's welcome tour is recorded against your account for Accmerio alone; AccountHouse and Split keep their own introductions, and neither changes the other.
Searching the guide
- Type a word or two in Search the guide, at the top of the guide's contents. The contents narrow to the chapters that hold every word, and the line under the box says how many: Found in 3 chapters, marked where it is. Press Enter for the first, or choose a chapter to open it there.
- Every place the words are found is marked in yellow on the page, in each chapter's text and headings. A single letter narrows the contents and marks nothing: type two letters or more.
- Press Enter to go to the first place, or choose a chapter in the contents to open it at its first match rather than at its heading.
A search looks through the whole guide, whichever part Showing is set to. Clear the box to see every chapter again.
Downloading the guide
- Open Guides & Support › User Guide in the sidebar.
- Press Download the guide (PDF) at the top for the whole guide, or PDF beside a chapter's title for that chapter alone.
- The file is built from the same text as the page, on the moment you press the button, so it is never older than what you see.
