Figures that look wrong
| What you see | Likely cause | Where to look |
|---|---|---|
| The trial balance or balance sheet does not balance | A problem in the ledger itself | Contact Accmerio support — this should never happen, and a figure should not be filed until it is explained |
| Depreciation is missing from the profit and loss | Runs are owed | Fixed Assets › Depreciation — the banner lists owed periods |
| The asset register does not tie to the ledger | A category wired to the wrong accounts, or an asset whose cost never posted | Fixed Assets › In the ledger — the row under the category says why |
| An account shows unusual side | Often a coding mistake; sometimes real (an overdraft) | Open the account's General Ledger |
| The Receivables Aging Report differs from the balance sheet | A manual journal posted straight to Accounts Receivable | General Ledger for 1100 |
| Profit looks too high | Costs not entered yet, depreciation owed, or capital recorded as income | Bills, Depreciation, and Equity & Liabilities |
| A filed VAT Return no longer matches the ledger | An entry was posted into the period after filing | This is expected — Amend the return |
| The bank rejects the WPS file | Missing employee bank or labour details, or the file was re-saved | Each employee's labour card number, IBAN and routing code; download the file again |
