Recurring Schedules

Rules that raise the same invoice, bill or journal on a timetable — with a preview of exactly when.

Updated

Create a schedule

  1. Open Accounting › Recurring and press New schedule.
  2. Give it a Name, and choose what it Raises: Sales invoice, Purchase bill or Journal entry.
  3. Choose how often. The presets are the rules people usually mean: Monthly, Quarterly, Every 6 months, Weekly, Fortnightly and Last working day of the month. Or set How often yourself.
  4. Choose the Starting date.
  5. Under In short months, choose what happens when the day does not exist (the 31st in February): Use the last day, Skip that month or Always the month end.
  6. Under On a weekend, choose Leave it there, Next working day, Previous working day or Modified following (next working day unless that crosses into next month).
  7. Under Ends, choose never, after How many times, or a Last date.
  8. Fill in the document or journal it raises, tick Active — generate on schedule, and save.

Managing schedules

  • Run now raises the next document immediately.
  • Edit changes the rule or the template; documents already raised are not changed.
  • Untick Active — generate on schedule to pause it.
  • Delete for good removes the schedule; what it already raised stays.
